0:15 The duration of a telex connection was like the duration of a telephone call - the longer you were connected, the more it cost. So you typed your message into a paper tape punch (on the left) and then fed the tape into the paper tape reader which sent your message at great speed once you'd dialled up the recipient. We used to use the telex for (unauthorised) 'chats' to people at various organisations. It made a very satisfying sound as it printed out the incoming messages.

Interesting regarding the Telex Machine in which I attended a match in Glasgow in the 1980s in which Scotland played Russia over six boards at the Russian Embassy, which they used one of these machines. At the time and before the internet it was considered high technology. Each venue had an Arbiter present and when each move was received the Arbiter would make the move on the Board and pressed the clock. I watched a match in which I could only see six Scottish players with no opponents in which as expected Russia won with no one losing. Gary Kasparov surname was changed at the age of 12 years old in which the name that he was born with was Garik Kimovich Weinstein. Gary's Father died when he was 7 years old and at 12 years old was changed to his Mother's surname.

#Suggestion Vasyl Ivanchuk vs Vladimir Epishin (1982). This blitz game was commented and brought to the public for the first time by Vasyl in an interview in Spanish (I didn't know he speaks Spanish) for a Paraguayan chess channel and was also live on chess.com some weeks ago. It features a nice queen sacrifice worth pausing the video for. 1. e4 c6 2. c4 e5 3. d4 Nf6 4. dxe5 Nxe4 5. Qd4 Bb4+ 6. Nd2 Nxd2 7. Bxd2 c5 8. Qd6 Bxd2+ 9. Qxd2 O-O 10. O-O-O Nc6 11. f4 d6 12. exd6 Nd4 13. Nf3 Bg4 14. Nxd4 Bxd1 15. Nf5 Ba4 16. Bd3 Kh8 17. Qc3 f6 18. Qa3 Qd7 19. Qxc5 Rad8 20. Re1 b6 21. Qf2 Rfe8 22. Rxe8+ Qxe8 23. Qh4 Rxd6 24. Qxh7+ Some comments by Vasyl were: "After pawn to d6 black sacs a pawn but if you take with the queen then Qa5 attacking a2 but also threatening rook to d8 so e takes d6 is kind of forced" Certainly a sharp game with a lot of interesting possibilities for both sides. In general when I'm looking for a good move in a position, firstly I look for sacrifices :) So at 5:03, Nxe6 was the first move that I thought at The thing with sacrifices is that many times they are beautiful and completely win the game for you, so they are my go to tactic whenever I feel like playing a bit risky
