Just a thought-In Classical Chess when the players think about a draw before move 40 or move 30, have three computers analyize the position for ten minutes. Then if 2 out of 3 say there is a advantage, however slight, the games continues. It gives the players a short break as well. I have not seen nor heard of this being done anywhere. Do you think it would work?

I have a proposal for control with no mouse, only keyboard: It is easy for each hand to be dedicated to 8 keys, with each finger dedicated to 2 keys each. The left hand, (Qwer, Asdf) Would be dedicated mapped to the grid columns for the first key press, and the grid rows for the second key press, to choose the square for the piece you want to move. So you want to move the price on a1, you press qq. To select the piece on h8, you press ff. The right hand, (yuio hjkl), is dedicated to the location you want to move to. Space could be used to confirm the move. Shift could be used go do conditional premoves. For long term play with such a setup, it would be wise go get a split ergonomic keyboard with columnar key arrangement.

This is what a real mouse slip looks like. Sometimes you see these "mouse slips" and they seemed at first sight pretty good moves until the opponent exposed them as being losing and then they conveniently became "mouse slips". This is what a true one looks like: no way that Magnus wanted to put his Queen there.

I'm a complete chess novice, but wouldn't a simple fix to the mouse slipping be to add an option to have a multi-button press required for moving pieces? For example, clicking and dragging wouldn't working unless you combine it with holding 'control' or 'shift' for example. That way, there's more points of failure required for a slip.

I just recently found your channel and I have no idea who most of these master players are or any of that, but your stepping through all these games is still fascinating. Anyway, in these games you mention all sorts of gambits. Sicilian, French, etc. What are these and where did they get their names? The books I read were really basic, just rules on how to play. Not strategy or history. Where could I go to learn about them? I know, google. Wondering if you have a good starting point though.
